Recognition for outstanding teaching in Times Higher Awards 2015

Well done to Paul Tracey from the School of the Built Environment, who was highly commended in the 2015 Times Higher Education Most Innovative Teacher award.

The winners were announced last night at the Grosvenor Hotel in London. The category winner was Momadou Sallah from De Montfort University, with Paul being awarded the coveted runner up position.

It is the second time that Paul has been nominated for this award – he also reached the shortlist in 2012 – which makes this a particularly significant achievement.

Since joining the University in 2010, after 25 years in the construction industry as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Paul has scooped numerous awards, including the Vice-Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award in 2013.

Paul is a Lecturer in Construction Law, in the School of the Built Environment, which was recently ranked in the world’s top 50 universities, following the prestigious QS World Rankings, which rated SoBE fourth in the UK and 39th in the World.
