Comedy improv show comes to New Adelphi

Friday 30 September 2016

Members of a comedy improv troupe which has performed sell out concerts across the country are bringing their fast paced show to the New Adelphi Arts Centre.

CSzUK, the team behind all ages, all improvised show ComedySportz, are bringing their adults only show to the New Adelphi Studio Theatre on Tuesday October 4 at 7.30pm.

Admission to the Bang Bang: Comedy Improv Show is just £2 and the group will return to £55m arts and media building on November 1 and December 6.

CSzUK are proud to be the University's first resident improv troupe, with many of its members Salford alumni.

The team of top improv comedians – now in their 15th year – promise a night of fast paced improvised comedy sketches, games and gags inspired by audience suggestions in a show that is perfect entertainment for fans of Whose Line Is It Anyway.

"We're so excited to be bringing the show to the New Adelphi," said comedian Sean Mason, himself a Salford graduate. "It's a fast, fun and raucous night of off the cuff games and gags and we're looking forward to whatever suggestions the audience throw at us."

“It's great to see Improv grow as an art form in this country and for the students to embrace it as both audience members and performers,” said Braínne Edge, performance tutor and manager of CSzUK. “It's going to be a great night.”

The show runs on the first Tuesday of every month and is also open to audiences outside of the University and it's a great showcase of local comedic talent and the exciting new theatre space. The group believe audiences will find the show a little edgier but no less creative in the way the team craft off the cuff comedy. Each show will also feature a guest student performer and the team hope to branch out to deliver even more exciting Improv formats as their relationship with the University grows.

CSzUK is part of the ComedySportz Worldwide family and has performed sell out shows across the country and in the US as well as being regular fixtures at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
