A FATHER AND SON with 25 years between them, have both graduated from the same course at the University of Salford.
Lloyd, who is a Senior Contract Engineer said: “Only a few people can say they work in the same trade and have graduated from the same course and the same university as their dad. It’s been a fantastic experience.”
Competition
Whilst working through the two-year course, the pair developed a competitive outlook on the assignments.
Stephen, who owns his own construction consultancy business and graduated with a Distinction said: “After I got a better grade than Lloyd in the first module and he beat me in the second, the pressure was really on.”
Opportunity
Seeing numerous job applications requiring an academic background and the opportunity to add a qualification to their years of experience led Lloyd and Stephen to decide to start the course at the University of Salford.
Since receiving his Masters, Lloyd has even discussed the idea of starting a PhD with his dad.
While at the graduation, Lloyd’s mum and Stephen’s wife, Cheryl Wood, said she was hugely proud of the two.
The MSc Project Management in Construction course is accredited by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), The Charter Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Association of Project Management (APM)
