International construction experts gather in Salford

MORE than 200 international experts have gathered in Salford to help shape tomorrow’s built environment.
The effects of climate change on construction, offsite construction,
zero carbon and virtual reality in design are among the hot topics discussed.
There is also discussion around the problematic question of how the
industry can better work together.
Hosted by the University’s School of the Built Environment (SoBE), the
two-day conference is held in partnership with the International Council for
Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB).
VIPs
It was opened in the University’s £55m New Adelphi venue by
Vice-Chancellor Professor Helen Marshall and is attended by Dr Wim Bakens,
Senior Program Advisor for the CIB.
It forms part of SoBE’s International Research Week, comprising
conference, Industry Days, Workshops, and a postgraduate conference
The School of the Built Environment is a World Top 50 centre for
education and research in the Built Environment.
