Salford partnership with service company

The University of Salford has announced the launch of an exciting new partnership with Peninsula, a provider of employment law, HR, and health & safety services.

The partnership will provide opportunities for Salford students to undertake both undergraduate and post graduate placements, internships and live projects with Peninsula at their Manchester headquarters. The aim of the partnership is to provide practical opportunities for students to undertake as part of their programme in order enhance their employability and is part of Salford’s Industrial Collaboration Zone strategy, aimed at working closely with business to ensure Salford provides students with the key skills for a successful career.

To kick off the partnership, Salford Business School graduates and students were invited to attend a Salford Business School Insights and Networking event which featured a talk on ‘The importance of good advice' in business along with progressing a career in HR and Learning and Development. The talk was delivered by Salford University alumnus, Alan Price - Operations Director at Peninsula.

Alan said: “Peninsula is proud to be supporting Salford in its drive to provide students and graduates with great career opportunities which will leave them with the right professional skills for employment. We believe the opportunities and expertise Peninsula can offer as a company will make a real difference.”

Peninsula have a strong connection with the University with numerous Alumni now working for the company. Dr Jonathan Lord, lecturer in the University of Salford Business School said: “This partnership will provide great opportunities for our students to get hands-on experience in a real world business before they enter the jobs market. The experience they gain will give them an edge in what is an increasingly competitive sector.

“Peninsula have a proven track record of continually training and developing their staff members, which is why they are highly regarded within their sector and therefore will provide strong visibility for our students once they have undertaken placements or internships there.”

Named in Glassdoor's top 10 workplaces to work for, Peninsula has a strong focus on promoting staff well-being and development which means it continues to lead the field in its industry.

During their time at Peninsula, students can expect perks such as free breakfasts on Mondays, fresh fruit on Wednesdays and regular events organised by Peninsula’s social committee ‘Peninsula People’.
