Storming ahead

Professor David Spicer, Dean of the University of Salford Business School, said: “Salford Business School are delighted to be working with Manchester Storm. Our first group of player students are now moving to complete their final projects and will be graduating later this year and the School is extremely grateful for the contribution they continue to make throughout their studies. We look forward to greeting a new group of students this autumn and to strengthening and deepening our partnership with Storm in what we are sure will be another great year for the club.” 

Storm General Manager, Neil Russell, had the following to say about the partnership: "I made it clear from day one here with the Storm that securing a University partnership was high on my list of things to achieve, to help our hockey club. 

“To see that relationship blossom like it has over the past 12 months has been great. The three MBA players from last season all thoroughly enjoyed their experience combining professional hockey with education and the staff at Salford could not have been better to deal with, also their assistance in guiding the players through the programme has been great too." 

Moving ahead into the second year as a partnership, there will have five educational packages available for Storm players, and again General Manager, Neil Russell, was delighted with this news. 

He said: "The growth of educational packages for next season is awesome news. The word has spread quickly among the hockey world of how superb the MBA programme is at Salford, but also how great a city Manchester is to live in.
