THE FINALISTS for the 13th North West Regional Construction Awards have been revealed ahead of the awards ceremony in July.
The awards are hosted by the University of Salford and Constructing Excellence North West.
This year’s list includes construction projects from Heysham Port to Heaton Hall and Wigan Bus Station to Liverpool’s famous Ogden’s Clock Tower.
The Awards celebrate outstanding examples of best practice in the construction of homes, workplaces, hospitals, schools, universities and transport infrastructure, with an emphasis on collaboration, innovation and sustainability.
Chair of Judges, Professor Peter McDermott from the University of Salford confirmed the largest ever number of entries – 140 – and said: “As judges we feel both challenged and privileged in choosing the winners from a series of fantastic entries for the 2019 Constructing Excellence Awards in the North West.
“It is an honour to see how progressive change shines through this industry as it responds to tough conditions in both the marketplace and the changing policy environment.
“The University of Salford is proud be be at the forefront of a progressive agenda in construction and to collaborate with industry in innovation, skills and adapting to new global challenges such as climate change.”

Winners from the 2018 awards included Willmott Dixon Construction, crowned Contractor of the Year, Liverpool City Council who picked up Client of the Year, Lowbury Construction who earned up the SME of the Year Award and Manchester & Cheshire Construction who collected the People Development Award.
