Chamber opens members’ lounge in Salford University

Tuesday 13 February 2018

GREATER Manchester Chamber of Commerce has opened a members’ lounge at the University of Salford Business School.

The new lounge, located in the Lady Hale building on the main Peel Park campus of the university offers comfortable and modern surroundings, with free access to Wi-Fi.

Chris Fletcher, Marketing & Campaigns Director at Greater Manchester Chamber, said: “We’re providing our members with a unique and vibrant workspace in the heart of Salford.

“It’s the ideal place to relax in between meetings, catch up with contacts over coffee, or use as a casual workspace when you need a change of scenery.

“The lounge complements the Members’ Lounge at our offices in the centre of Manchester, which is very popular with members.”

David Spicer, Dean of the University of Salford Business School, said: “The University is keen to work with business and industry as much as we can and opening this lounge is part of that ambition. This space is available for all Chamber members, whether they wish to hold a meeting, access a workspace at short notice or simply want somewhere to pop in for a coffee, and we hope members will come and make use of the facility and work with the University as well.”

The opening of the new lounge was marked with a ‘Future of Business in Salford’ event, attended by City Mayor, Paul Dennett, and local business leaders. The event explored the challenges and opportunities of establishing and developing a business in Salford. Topics covered included transport infrastructure and employment, skills and training.
