Speaking at the University’s MediaCityUK campus, Dean of the School of Built Environment, Professor Hisham Elkadi highlighted the need for future infrastructure that could sense, design, learn and adapt.

Lecturer in Building Management, Dr Zeeshan Aziz, highlighted the continued engagement of the School of Built Environment in embedding Lean Strategies and tools within Highways England supply chain, leading to completion of 10 research projects over past few years.

Darren James, Managing Director of Costain, said: “I had the pleasure of addressing the Higher Education Lean Practitioners event at the University of Salford this week and shared a vision of what we need to do to drive this agenda forward.

"I left confident that we have the people, skills, capability and commitment to deliver the HE imperatives and “Lean" will be at the heart of how we deliver this objective."
