THE University of Salford's students have given a big thumbs up to STEM subjects - science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Hundreds of final year students at Salford painted a rosy picture of STEM courses at Salford in their feedback to the National Student Survey (NSS) conducted in February- April 2018.
Overall the University's scores improved to last year to more than 84% of students 'satisfied' with their course, compared to a national average of 83%.
The scores for science courses were particularly outstanding, placing the University way ahead of many of its competitors in the education is offers its students.
Geography achieved 100% satisfaction compared to an 89% average score for UK universities.
Microbiology and Molecular Biology students returned scores of 96% and 92% compared to 90% and 86% nationally. Straight Biology scored 85%, slightly down on the national average.
Zoology achieved 93% compared to 84% across the sector.
Mathematics students were 100% satisfied against a UK average of 87%. Physics scored 96% - ten points up on the 86% average.
Computer Science scored 85%, average 79%.
Mechanical Engineering saw 81% satisfied, the same as the university average. 83% of Aerospace Engineering students were satisfied compared to 81% on average in the UK, and 83% of Electronic and Electrical Engineering students, ahead of the 81% nationally.
