Mayoral candidates debate future of transport

Thursday 20 April 2017

CANDIDATES in the Greater Manchester Mayoral Election will debate the future of transport during an event at the University of Salford.

Those standing to become the region’s first Metro Mayor – with new powers over transport – will discuss what they will do to tackle congestion, poor air quality and how they will build sustainable infrastructure during a hustings event at the University’s Peel Hall from 3pm on Friday April 21.

The candidates standing for election on May 4 will take questions from members of the public in a debate chaired by the Right Honourable Baroness Beverley Hughes, chair of the University’s Council and non-executive director of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.

Anyone interested in coming to the event should register their attendance here.
