A MOTHER who was five days overdue with her first child during her final exams has graduated from the University of Salford.
36 year old Tracey Burton has completed an MSc in Business Management despite falling pregnant half way through her course and sitting exams while pregnant, as well as working full time.
Tracey, from Preston, graduates at a ceremony this afternoon at the Lowry, MediaCityUK with a Distinction in Business Management.
Tracey, who works as a Project Product Manager for construction company Hilti, said: “I was considering future career options and decided to do a part time degree while still working full time. And I then fell pregnant during the course and I was five days past my due date for giving birth when I sat my final exam.
“It added an extra level of stress wondering if my waters were going to break in the exam hall, but fortunately I was fine and the staff at Salford were great, they gave me all the support I needed both during my pregnancy and during the exam period.”
In December she gave birth to a beautiful daughter, Holly, now seven months old.
Tracey is planning to use the expertise she gained on the course to help her company and her career.
“She did a great job, worked so hard and I wish her all success in the future.”
