New e-learning programme developed to support prosthetists and orthotists

Friday 13 April 2018

THE UNIVERSITY of Salford has helped develop a new e-learning programme to support  prosthetic and orthotic practitioners who educate and mentor students and newly qualified colleagues.

The programme content has been informed by practitioners and is designed to help provide flexible work-based support to complement current learning.

It comprises three 20-minute sessions: developing an effective mentor relationship; providing effective feedback and supporting learners who fine themselves in difficulty.

Interactive sessions

Sessions are designed to be interactive and are suitable for any allied health professional who is new to mentorship, looking to update current skills or as pre-reading material prior to attending a face-to-face session.

The programme has been created by the University in partnership with Health Education England (HEE) and The British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO).

To access the programme practitioners may need to register for an OpenAthens account.  To register for an OpenAthens account please visit: https://openathens.nice.org.uk/ or for more information about accessing e-LfH resources via OpenAthens visit the e-LfH support page.
