Student braves the shave in memory of Auntie

A brave Salford student had her luscious locks shaved off for charity in memory of her auntie and grandma.
Eleonora Crovato, who studies BSc (Hons) in biomedical science at The University of Salford, took part in Brave the Shave on Friday to raise cash for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The final year student shaved her hair off in the foyer of the Maxwell building, watched by large lunchtime crowd.
Eleonora, from Eccles said: “It went really well, despite how nervous I was about doing it in public.
“The last time I had my hair cut was before I started at Salford University in 2013, so shaving my hair off was a major thing for me. My hair was like my Linus blanket. I wanted to do it in a very public place at lunchtime to involve as many people as possible; luckily, I have a choice to shave my hair off unlike so many other people who do not. From now on, my bald head will probably be the first thing that people notice about me”.
The donations from supporters have helped Eleonora raise almost £375 so far, with people still continuing to donate on her Brave The Shave page.
Eleonora will send her hair to Little Princess Trust, a charity that provide real hair wigs for children in the UK who have undergone treatment for cancer. The donation page is still open and accepting donations here: www.bravetheshave.org.uk/shavers/eleonora-crovato
