Gary Neville backs business in Salford

Footballer turned entrepreneur Gary Neville will be the guest speaker at the 2017 Salford Business Awards.
The former Manchester United defender will be giving an insight into his new life as a TV pundit, restaurateur and property developer at the Awards dinner in May.
Organised by the University of Salford, Salford City Council and The Business Group Salford, the Awards, now in their 10th year, showcase some of the innovative businesses flourishing in the city.
Eight categories cover firms of all sizes across all industries including a community award, entrepreneur award, innovation award and business of the year.
Entries close on Friday March 10th.
The winners will be announced at the award ceremony at the AJ Bell Stadium on Thursday May 25th and the event is sponsored by Talk Talk Group.
Professor Helen Marshall , Vice Chancellor of the University of Salford said: “Salford is home to some of the most innovative and exciting businesses in the UK.
“They make a vital contribution to the economy, invest in regeneration and create opportunities for local people and to making the City of Salford great.

Last year Mettler Toledo Safeline scored a hat trick of wins as they claimed the Large Business of the Year, the Excellence Award, and the Innovation Award.
Alan Purvis, Managing Director of the company said: “The application process was very easy, as long as you’ve got a story, all you have to do is tell that story. The main reason we applied was for the morale, motivation and enthusiasm of our 300 employees, and that’s always a good thing.
“Salford Business Awards is actually an award for the community of business, its equally fun for everybody. I can’t think of a reason why a company that was confident about its achievements and would want to be recognised wouldn’t want to apply.”
