Salford Business School research wins top prizes at Emerald Literati Network awards

TWO research papers written by academics at Salford Business School have won ‘outstanding paper’ in the annual Emerald Network Awards for Excellence.
Dr Kevin Kane was awarded Outstanding Paper at this year’s awards, for a paper that he wrote examining the cross cultural consumer perceptions of service quality in restaurants.
The paper, which was published in the journal of Nutrition & Food Science, presents results from research that analysed consumer perceptions of service quality in restaurants in four European cities, including Manchester, Belgrade, Thessaloniki and Porto. It was selected as 'outstanding' paper by the journal's editorial team.
There was more success for Salford Business School at this year’s awards, with a research paper that was published in the journal of Supply Chain management also being selected by the journal's editorial team to win the Outstanding Paper prize.
The paper, which was jointly written by Dr Marie Griffiths and Dr Gordon Fletcher, is entitled “The social supply chain and the future high street” and it examines how independent social and commercial activities have developed in response to the perceived decline in the UK high street, and in response to the challenges of increasing digital retailing opportunities.
The Emerald Literati Awards are held each year by Emerald publishing, which manages a portfolio of nearly 300 journals. The awards celebrate and reward the outstanding contributions of authors and reviewers to scholarly research.
